Cancer Economics
This SIG covers the topic of cancer economics: any health economic research approaches on the full range of cancer control initiatives from primary prevention, early detection, to diagnosis, treatment, cancer survivorship, supportive and palliative care.
Aim and objectives
Aim To bring together health economic researchers working in the areas of cancer control.
Objectives
- Provide a platform for sharing ideas, experiences, insights, research and related issues or challenges;
- Provide support to early- and mid-career researchers through providing feedback opportunities to present their work and assist with grant or fellowship applications;
- Provide an exchange for new methods or approaches, knowledge and resources and enhance the capacity of cancer economics in Australia; and
- Foster collaboration on ongoing and future research through publications and grant applications
Activity plan
- Invite members to join the SIG through AHES communications and conferences.
- Hold an in-person forum at AHES conferences.
- Showcase recent work from SIG members through regular communication.
- Build a database of current activities of the members and share this among members to encourage collaborations.
- Coordinate submissions for organised sessions at AHES and/or iHEA conferences.
