We are delighted to announce that the Mt Hood/SMDM Asia 2023 Conference will be hosted by the Department of Medicine, University of Malaya and take place from 3rd to 5th of December at Connexion Conference & Event Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This conference is organised by the Mount Hood Diabetes Challenge Network in conjunction with Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM), and supported by the Australia Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations.

As with past Mt Hood Diabetes Challenge meetings, this conference aims to promote the use of health economics and diabetes simulation models with a special focus on the development and use of simulation models in Asia. The first day of the meeting will be devoted to diabetes simulation modelling and will include a simulation modelling challenge. The second day will have a broader focus with abstract and panel sessions covering all aspects of health economics as well as medical decision-making.

We welcome submissions of organised sessions and scientific abstracts for oral or brief presentations on a wide range of relevant to medical decision-making. The conference covers the following scientific areas: Diabetes and its Complications, Health Services and Policy Research, Patient and Stakeholder Preferences, Applied Health Economics, Medical Decision Making, and Quantitative Methods and Theoretical Developments.
