Every two years AHES awards a prize to promote excellence in research by Australasian health economists.  The inaugural prize was awarded in 2009, and the past winners of the best research paper prize can be viewed on the website.

All eligible papers that are published in Health Economics and the Journal of Health Economics in 2017 and 2018 are automatically considered for the prize, but AHES members are also encouraged to nominate papers from other journals that meet the eligibility criteria (published in 2017 or 2018, and with at least 50% of authors with Australian or New Zealand affiliation).

Papers can be nominated by the authors or by other AHES members on behalf of the authors. Please visit the online form to make your nominations.

Nominations close 30 March 2019.

The winner will be announced and awarded at the 2019 AHES conference in Melbourne this year.
