A one-day short course aiming to provide participants an understanding of how economic analysis can be used to evaluate health programs and aid decision making. Participants will be provided an introduction to the application of economic evaluation methods in health. No previous knowledge is required. The course will consist of short lectures, case studies and practical exercises and is designed for policy makers, clinicians, researchers, managers and others working in the health sector. Content Overview:

This course will provide participants with an understanding of how economic analysis can be used to evaluate health programs and aid decision making. This course consists of short lectures, case studies and practical class exercises and will include the following   modules:

  • Introduction to Health Economics
  • Cost measurement
  • Outcome measurement
  • Interpretation of economic evaluation results for policy

OBS:

This introductory course has no assumed knowledge. It represents a good foundation for other courses offered in the series.
