The AHES Mentoring Committee is holding the annual AHES Speed Mentoring Workshop for students, Early Career Researchers/Academics (ECR/ECAs) and Mid-Career Researchers (MCRs) working in health economics in Australia through an online forum. This workshop will include the following sessions:
- Dr Chris Schilling on "Career pathways outside of academia: Building a health economics career in industry and/or government"
- Professor Kim Dalziel on "Leading and building up a research unit/team, from ECR to MCR and all the way to Professor"
- Panel session with A/Profs Bonnie Parkinson and Richard Norman "Building your CV as a Health Economist: Strategies to excel in medicine/health versus economics/business"
In addition there will be five breakout sessions, where mentees will be placed into small groups with one or more experienced health economists and given the opportunity to ask questions/discuss career progression and other aspects in a 'speed mentoring' type format.
The session will run on Thursday 25th of August 2022 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm AEST and is open to all. Details on how to access the online workshop will be sent out to registrants prior to the workshop.
