AHES is excited to announce we will be awarding two prizes this year for the first time.

The first new prize will be the inaugural AHES Deeble Scotton Prize for Policy Impact. This prize aims to honour the major impacts on health policy in Australia of John Deeble and Dick Scotton. This Prize will be awarded to an AHES member who research has made significant impact to health and social wellbeing more broadly. Self nomination or nominations by others will be accepted.

Secondly, we will be awarding the AHES Rising Star Award. This award will be bestowed by the AHES Executive Committee to “rising stars” in health economics research. This will be a person in the early to mid stages of their career whose work is beginning to make a significant impact nationally and internationally, reflecting either scientific excellence or policy impact (or both).

Guidelines for the prizes and application forms are available to download on the Prizes section of the website.

The awardees will usually be asked to present at the AHES conference where the award will be presented. For 2020, given the conference has been postponed, the awardees will be expected to deliver a webinar likely in late September 2020.

Applications will be open until the Friday 19th June 2020. For any questions, please contact the Secretary Rachel.milte@flinders.edu.au.
